I am running a game in Pathfinder where one of (there are several) main protagonists is a Nosferatu. Nosferatu make awesome protagonists but they have one major drawback. They can’t have spawn and are very limited in their ability to gather even ordinary creatures to them. So how do they learn of the world around them? The one in my game is the head of a thieves guild but she does not trust the members. Rightfully so. I needed a creature that was undead or a creation (like a golem) that would act as her ears and mouth among the populace.
The right hand woman
The Nosferatu’s only trusted companion is a Necromancer. Foolishly the Nosferatu trusts her with her needs and in this particular situation she has created a solution to one. A variant undead that works in a pack with a hive mind. Center of that mind is the creature attuned to them at creation. These are Prolyphites. A creation of nightmare that allow the Nosferatu of my game a degree of freedom for discovering things.
Clearly once humanoids the figures arrayed before you stand silent, a slit barely covering teeth like blades the only features of their rotting white faces.

Hive Mind (EX) On creation every Prolyphite is attuned to a central creature known as the queen. The queen holds an amulet that allows him/her to control the actions of the prolyphites in a group simultaneously. This device (commonly an amulet) allows the queen to perceive all of the prolyphite senses as a whole and interpret them with no confusion. All prolyphites within 50 miles of their queen are in constant communication with him/her and each other. If one is aware of a particular danger, they all are aware of a particular danger. If one in the hive of prolyphites is not flat-footed, none of them are. No prolyphite in a hive is considered flanked unless all prolyphites in a hive are flanked.
Essentially creatures with no sort of drive whatsoever. They seek only to self preserve or follow the desires of the queen. These creatures are created using a specific ritual only known by the darkest, most evil necromancers of the Plane of Dreams. They sell groups of these animals to those that are more recluse than most so they may venture among those they seek to hide from.
