Just Call Me Alf – LoG&S NPC

Alf the alien (not from the TV show)
He calls himself Alf and lives in the cracks of the Grand Stair when he is not chasing around and shaking down the people of the Gossamer Worlds. Image by Ricardo Liberato legalese at bottom of page

Sometimes I really wonder about the people of the Gossamer Worlds.  They are kind of like sheep, which would make us the wolves so to speak – not that I eat them that is, well many of them.  I don’t get along much with the rest that travel the Stair so I really only go there if I absolutely have to do so.  Even I can’t totally ignore the politics that seems to surround us all, but at least I get to deal mainly in the shadows and with people that are as loathsome as me.

The rest of the time I spend in the Worlds.  Most of the straights at the Agora will tell you that the Grand Stair is the great mystery that must be understood.  What is to understand?  It goes up, it goes down and there are doors attached.  I really do not understand the fuss of it all.  But once you push past one of those doors, or connect one door to another – that is the real mystery.  The beautiful jewels that are the worlds is where it really happens.

I go there to marvel at the beauty, or the cruelty – or whatever I find.  They are all so different and I try to shake the sheep awake!  Every now and again I do and I show them the way out.  but most of the time it is like they do not even see me.  I shout and shake, smash and destroy but nothing.  It is like I am invisible at times.  Which can of course be a great thing.

If you happen to come across a world that has a fascination or religion around the “Greys” just know that I was having fun.  Some of them are really dumb and their brains can be molded like week old potato mash (thing I found in Ireland on a planet named Earth – disgusting).  Not that I have always had so much success everywhere I have been.  Secret that I can let you in on – just on the sly.  Stay away from the Shadow.  It looks harmless but there are things there.  Things live there.  Things with darker hearts than I…

Alf has become terribly artistic and spends a lot of time working his deck of icons.  They are always on his person at this stage and he is incaple of using his Wrighting unless the Icon is one that he has created himself, though this does seem to make his Wrighting power the stronger for it.
