I do miss this game badly. Here is another NPC, please use her.

When I asked my mother where I was born she simply replied that I was too perfect to have been born, I was created of stardust and moonlight hidden in the boughs of the gum trees on the edges of the Tasmanian rain forest where everything was pure and beautiful. She was lying, of that I am certain, but it is nice to have a mother that loves you as if you were the only thing that ever existed.
I do wish to find her once more. She taught me the fundamentals of the travel and after a time allowed me to guide her on the Grand Stair. It was new and a novelty and made travel so much easier once the creatures had been shut out of it. Before then it was dangerous and the travel was deadly. Before that was a haze. We always had traveled together, Mother and I, until the Shadow shifted. We both felt it. It was like a tremor through our bodies. Our hearts paused and we had to swallow back a pervading fear. I do not remember exactly where we were then – some island with bright lights, pristine beaches and an undercurrent of class overtones. This fear was something else though. Something not of this place.
Mother told me to get to the door. She would lay some diversions and join me. I was to defend the door and wait for her. I did as I was told and stood at the door. I saw a great tempest rise. A maelstrom of energies at the heart of that island that grew too fast to be natural. It started by drawing the tips off the waves and hurling them upward until they were balls of ice 4 inches across and threw them back down at the island. With my sight I could see the true energies merged with the hurricane like force and I also saw the energy that shot out toward me and brought darkness to me as it destroyed the door I was standing in.
I awoke in a place that I had never encountered before. Many others like me gathered together to make sales and congress together. I was badly wounded but mending. A traveler had found me and a door and delivered me here. She was nameless and unknown to them so they knew not from whence I had come. The grief hit me and caused me to leave, perhaps earlier than prudent. My Mother was alone, and more than likely hurt. I must find her, regardless of the time that it will take…

Tamik learnt the art of sorcery in a previously undiscovered Gossamer world where it was said that her mother was worshipped by the local tribes. She crafted her own amulets that appear like mini fob watches on the end of a chain most of the time, though she changes it to a watch if heading to an area that is not trusted, preferring to keep them closer to her.
