Trin (or Trinnie if you know me) is my name. I am a scientist if you like, or at least someone that has a logical and analytical mind. I was once a scientist but really you need to be paid to take on that title – or at least have some kind of grant. I test many theories as to the purpose and function of the Grand Stair, the Gossamer Worlds and the edges of Shadow. There is obviously some greater purpose to be had here and I hope to be the one that finds it.
I have met others who seek the same thing that I do, but they do it more by happenstance and hearsay. They look for patterns in data that is corrupt and weakened by the untrustworthy sources. I have had extended arguments with these people and explain to them the very heart of scientific fact is that it is observable, provable and repeatable. They laugh at me and tell me the Grand Stair is an infinite space and so the facts must be gleaned from other travelers. I tell them that they are yet to even prove that it is infinite and they never will from their comfortable thrones.
Besides, they focus on the Grand Stair mainly when in reality the sublime truth must involve all three components. Gossamer Worlds, Shadow and the Grand Stair. I look to all three for explanation. It is true that some are more dangerous than others but without explorers and investigators we will never know the truth of the matter. The shut outs of various races has something to do with this balance and I hope my research can soon deliver the information as to why they occur before we are shut out ourselves. To live in Shadow or to be trapped in one reality would be maddening to all of us.
If you need my assistance then you will have to do some searching. I have very few that support me in this endeavor but I do try to make it to the Agora once a year or so and leave someone there in the know as to where I plan to be collecting my data in the future. I have already uncovered many patterns that may point toward some very unlikely theories but until I can prove them I should keep them quiet for a time at least.
