Wesley Lamont has released his game Cogz on to the world and the smart people of the world have approved! I am very intrigued by the concept and delve further to find out a bit about Wesley.

Tell us who you are and what you have designed?
I’m Wesley Lamont, lead designer at RAEZ. I’ve released COGZ this year which is the first published game initially funded through Kickstarter which also gained Mensa endorsement. I’ve got another 30-50 prototypes which I’m picking the best to publish next.
Only another 30-50 prototypes – I love it! Can’t wait to see what comes out next.
What is it that makes you want to design games?
Something I’ve always enjoyed since I was a kid. I was making games for friends in primary school and it evolved from there.
I did a bit of that in primary school. They were all very generic though – perhaps I should have another go at it.
What are the games that inspire you most?
Brilliantly designed games. Something mechanically interesting, elegant game play always impresses me.
What makes Australian games different from others?
I’m not sure there is a distinct difference. I think Australian developers are influenced by the gaming environment here which has a heavy Euro influence as well as American games.
I like that description and I can identify with it. We are like the Euro-America fusion of gaming and can appreciate the subtleties of each.
Where can we get your games from?
shop.raez.net is the place to get it directly off myself with free international shipping.
Looks like a must have for my store too 🙂
Are you working on anything at the moment?
2 digital games, 3 boardgames and always heaps of ideas.
Anything else you would like to mention?
A six pack of hypnotic cosmic moose because…. fish!
🙂
Looks like I will also have to find out where Wesley gets his meds from…
Seriously though – this game looks very cool and I will be getting my hands on some copies soon to add to the list at the store. A couple more Ozzie game designers to go yet! Keep rolling.

The new Mindgames store. Guy in there put me onto it cause I was after somethings new and different. I actually went in to talk about using the game space and stuff and got talking games.
